What is the Bike Path?

The Cozumel Bike Path is a dedicated cycling path that circles around the island. Created to coincide with the annual Ironman triathlon event in November, it’s an easy 65 km/40-mile ride that takes around an hour and a half to complete. Most impressively, cars aren’t allowed on it – making it the perfect option for cyclists looking to avoid traffic jams.

Is the Bike Path Safe?

Recently, protective bollards were installed along a cycling path in Cozumel that provides safe access for island cyclists. Running from the south of downtown to the southern coastal road, this path has become an excellent asset for cyclists who appreciate having convenient access while taking in the stunning scenery along the way.
Bicycling in Cozumel is generally a safe activity, with most roads having been well-maintained to make them safe for cyclists to ride on. However, one should still exercise caution around large potholes and eroding roads to prevent an accident from occurring.
